Just a reminder about this weekends homework to do a reading assessment on Raz-Kids.  Every student in the class has been assigned an assessment for this weekend.  Please follow the instructions below to complete the assessment.  Thanks to those of you who have already done their assessment, my daughter Emmi and I loved listening to the kids read.

1.  Go to www.raz-kids.com from your Internet browser and click "Log In"

2. Type in the username AE2056 and click "Go"

3. Find your child's name on the chart and click on that symbol.

4. Enter your child's picture password (it is glued into the front of your child’s agenda).

5. Click on the "Assessment" tab and follow the prompts below the book.  Please make sure your computer’s microphone is turned up so it capture’s your child’s voice.  Also, please do not help your child with words so that the assessment can be as authentic as possible.

In Language Arts today we reviewed the letters we learned this week Ii, Pp, and Nn.  We also watched a Leap Frog movie where we sang along to the letter sounds.

In Social Studies today we made a map of our classroom.

For math today, we focussed on the numbers 7 and 8.  To review numbers and number words why not check out the slideshows available by clicking on the following link:

Tonight our second weeks worth of centres will be coming home.  Most of the students in the class are struggling with staying focussed during centres and did not get many done this week.  Therefore, next week we are going to try a new way of doing centres in an attempt to motivate them to stay on task.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunny weather!
