First off, tomorrow afternoon is our Terry Fox run outside. Please make sure you check the temperature in the morning and send your child dressed for the weather as we will be out for almost an hour.
Today we learned the letter Ee
When we learned these letter we pretended that we were cracking eggs in a fryng pan.
Today we learned the word family et.
We made words like met, get, wet and fet.
We got to go to library today for the first time. Students will bring home a new book every Wednesday and must bring it back before the following Wednesday to sign-out a new one.
In math today we started the Patterns Unit. The learning goals for this unit are:
- Identify and copy patterns
- Create and extend patterns
- Talk about how a pattern repeats
- Solve problems with patterns
- Recreate the same pattern using different materials
Here are some pattern activities you can do at home.
- Go on a pattern hunt around your home
- Make a colour pattern using different colour crayons
- Cut out pics from a newspaper/magazine to make patterns
- Use household objects to make patterns
- Make a pattern and have your child extend it
