This morning we had a substitute teacher because Mrs. Easton was doing reading testing in the hallway. Every student got a chance to read one on one with Mrs. Easton and you can look forward to an upcoming email detailing progress in the classroom.

This afternoon we continued to work on centres and some of the students are getting pretty close to completing all of this week's centres. We are slowly getting into the routine.

Later, we watched LeapFrog's learn to read movie which gave tips on how to read new words. Students learned about sounding out words using their knowledge of letter sounds, looking at pictures, reading on to figure out meaning and making sense of text.
